Our Roots

Wards Gardens has earned recognition across the region, with awards including Best Landscape Gardener in the West Midlands and Best in Herefordshire. The company has also been featured in local press, with standout projects ranging from luxury gardens to building the test tracks for Land Rover.

But before all the success, there was a dream that started small.

The business began with founder Tim Ward’s passion for the outdoors – one shaped by childhood days spent at his parents’ garden centre. When his parents later lost the business, Tim didn’t give up on the dream. He started small, offering local gardening services from the back of a Peugeot 206.

Through hard work, reinvestment and horticultural knowledge passed down through generations, Wards Gardens began to grow. Today, the business has a skilled, close-knit team, modern training and the tools to bring even the most ambitious garden visions to life.

Rooted in creativity and practicality, Wards Gardens continues to deliver thoughtful, budget-friendly solutions – all driven by the belief that “a weed is just a plant growing in the wrong place.”
